But does said "putrid explosion" have anything to do with the "putrid explosion" from GW 1?

Sort of the same, but instead the necro spawns their own corpse and chooses when to make them go "pop" as they rush towards any given target.

Wow.

Like you guys have said, that Putrid Explosion looks great. Mini exploding zombies!

And I have to say that I absolutely love the darker tone that they're taking with the game.

Each character in the right characteristic settings looks awesome. I thought I'd play as a warrior after seeing the warrior skills videos the first time, but I hate chasing people around, especially now that there is a dodge ability (although not spammable PHEW!), so I'll definitely be starting off as a Elementalist again. XD

They said that you could play the game forever within the World vs World (WvW) realm. It sounded like it was a lot about raiding each other's stuff, but if the events and story are still there, then I'm totally playing in an open PVP!

I also gave in to buying the Ghosts of Ascalon novel, I'll tell you guys how it reads.

Well for me, I will always be the Wizard, but, if there are secondary professions, I will definately choose the Dark Arts of the Necromancer for the whole elemental, supernatural experience!

To expand on my previous post concernig the Elemental/Necromancer,; I would then play an attitude like the old western TV show " Have Gun; Will Travel...pm: Syko Palidin, Ele/Necro. How about them apples!!

If that is'nt worthy of a SYKO Killer, I don't know what is. I would suggest that we all incorporate the name Syko into our character names for recognition and in honor of our GW1 heritage.

I hate to say it but I'd almost guarantee you lost everyone when you mentioned Have Gun; Will Travel (I love the show myself and watch it every chance I can. It's the only reason I still have a VHS deck).

I'm 25% into the novel, Ghosts of Ascalon. Great read so far!

At first thought, I would be hesistant, but taking simple names and slapping on Syko to the end wouldn't be a bad idea. Surnames as far as we know are no longer required in Guild Wars 2, though as the founder of Syko Killers, I would be quite honored seeing the name SYKO appear with every sentense in the chat box, hehe. The only name I won't change is Becky Brimstone, no other name has given me as much fun as my first main character..

Syko, as the surname, the family name, cool! XD

I surely hope that we can all get into the Closed Beta when it is announced!

Well, I'd have to use it as a first name.

"Syko Liu" sounds better to me than "Liu Syko".

Either way though, it sounds like a fine idea.

Yes, I think it a good idea as we may not be in the same story line with each other. I also did not hear any talk of formal Guilds in this new game, that is, in the trailers that I watched. If, indeed, there are no Guilds, then SYKO would become an inside aspect, a secret, yet not too secret society of game players...us! We would help each other when and if, the opportunity presented itself in the game. Another thought I had is that I am sure your money will buy more than one character slot to begin with...so we as a group could decide to play the same race of characters, say CHARR, as one of our slotted choices. I think in this way with the SYKO name we would be in a better position to find each other before the end of the game when all would meet to defeat the Dragon King. I may be wrong about this, but seems to me a good idea for us. The forum thus would become a place of coordination and cooperation for us as SYKO's.

I'm pretty sure there will be guilds in a game called Guild Wars 2 though, hehe. If guild membership is again account based then, I'll certainly be interested in going all Charr so that we can get our guild registration in fast!

I feel like our team is very silm right now though. I'm not sure if I should go on random GW2 forums and try to interest people to join us before the game has even started. I hope we can make many new friends especially when Closed Beta comes around.

I remember I joined Syko months before GW came out because I was looking for a guild to play with. So I think recruiting on big forums is a good idea, maybe I found SYKO throught Guild wars guru.

Well, I remember that I joined in game. So I really think that's the most effective way to recruit new members.

But I guess a post on some forums wouldn't hurt.

Also, that artisan video looked good, though I didn't really think there was anything all that new in there. I'm more interested in the new character classes.

Playing as a charr
During character creation, charr characters will select their Legion from the following:

Ash Legion
Iron Legion
Blood Legion
These choices will affect the character's personal story, but not their powers.[1]. The Flame Legion is not an option for charr characters.

Also selected is a lesser race that the character has sympathy for. For the charr, these races include the grawl, skritt and ogres. They can also choose which of their warband companion they would die for, and who was the charr that sired them.

The charr have many similarities with the ancient Mongols, in that they were once just clans fighting amongst each other, and were united under a Khan. They also broke through an enormous wall of a southern kingdom, China in the case of the Mongols, Ascalon in that of the charr.
The charr are known to have "meat festivals" as a type of cultural celebration, and to drink alcohol at these events (sometimes to excess).
The charr invented the printing press, which allowed the spread of a common written language.
